About Nutritional Medicine
Nutritional Medicine provides a holistic outlook on how nutrition influences our health, the relationship between diet and disease, as well as a focused understanding of how nutrients, food and lifestyle factors can affect one's overall state of health.
Degree-qualified holistic nutritionists combine traditional food wisdom with current scientific advances in nutritional biochemistry to treatments that are tailored to the individual's unique needs. This may include recommendations with high quality nutritional supplements to correct any underlying biochemical imbalances.
As a holistic nutritionist Sarah looks beyond the presenting symptoms and instead aims to identify their underlying cause(s) through thorough case taking, pathology and functional testing (if necessary), creating a treatment plan that aims to teach clients on how they can effectively nourish themselves according to their body's unique needs.
While Sarah has a specialised interest in mental health and wellbeing she enjoys harnessing her craft of nutrition to assist with a range of common conditions including:
Digestive issues (IBS, Coeliac Disease, Crohns Disease, food intolerances and allergies)
Anxiety, depression and irregular mood patterns
Autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, developmental disorders and behavioural issues
Pregnancy and pre-conception care
Metabolic issues (e.g. Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity, high cholesterol)
Adrenal and thyroid imbalances
Female health and PCOS
The physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of caregivers
Sarah also enjoys providing education and support to those wanting to make healthier changes and for those following vegan/vegetarian diets to ensure that they are getting all the nutrients that they need to effectively support themselves.
